Robert J. Bores

Robert J. Bores, a resident of King of Prussia, PA, passed away on October 8, 2026, at Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA. He was born on February 5, 1942, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to the late Arnold P. and Eleanor R. (Weigel) Bores.

Robert dedicated his professional career to public service as a nuclear physicist with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where he worked from 1973 until his retirement in 2006. Beyond his career, he was deeply committed to his faith and community. He was an active member of the former St. Augustine Church and Sacred Heart Church, both in Bridgeport, and was very involved in the Knights of Columbus and Pro-Life activities. Robert also generously gave his time to others through 20 years of volunteer tutoring at Upper Merion Middle School, where he made a meaningful difference in the lives of students.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed gardening, playing chess, working on puzzles and Sudoku, and reading. He especially cherished spending time with his family and socializing with friends and those he met along the way. Known for his dry sense of humor, Robert had a unique ability to find humor in almost anything, bringing laughter and lightheartedness to those around him. His intelligence, wit, generosity, and devotion to his family and faith will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Robert was the beloved husband of the late Barbara J. (Balza) Bores, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2023. He is survived by his son, James R. Bores; his daughter, Beth A. Stalker (Joseph); six grandchildren, Sofia Bores, Valentina Bores, Carmen Stalker, John Stalker, Karina Stalker, and Thomas Stalker; and three great-grandchildren, Alessia Price, Isla Price, and Caspian Price. He is also survived by his four brothers, Paul Bores, Joseph Bores (Louise), Ronald Bores (Shirley), and Ralph Bores (Bette); his sister, Mary Stogis (James); and 17 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Robert was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Shirley Bores, and his nephew, Kevin Stogis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday evening, October 14, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb Street, Bridgeport, PA 19405. A second viewing will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Bridgeport, PA 19405, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Entombment will take place at St. Augustine Cemetery Mausoleum.
