Robert Charles Acton, Jr.

Robert Charles Acton, Jr. passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley in Philadelphia, PA. He was 87. Robert was a resident of Glenside, PA and received his Bachelors of Science from Drexel Institute of Technology. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for G.E. then at Westinghouse for many years. Robert was a US Veteran serving as an Army Corp. Engineer. In his younger years, he was part of the Championship rowing team at West Catholic Boys High School. Later on he enjoyed taking his boats down to the Jersey shores and fishing off of them. Robert was an avid reader and enjoyed birdwatching with his wife.

Born on September 21, 1936 in Southwest Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Margaret and Robert Charles Acton, Sr.

Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 37 years, Patricia J. (Pretzello) Acton; 2 sons, Robert C. Acton IV and Eric A. Acton; a step-daughter, Sarah Davis; 5 grandchildren: Courtney, Ricky, Keri, Morgan, and Jude; 5 great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Addison, Walker, Ryker, and Lux; and many other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Judith Lynch and her husband, Edward.

Relatives and friends are invited to Robert’s viewing at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., (Rt. 202) Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10:00am to11:00am, with his Funeral Service starting at 11:00am. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
