Robert Dawson Smith

Robert D. “Bus” Smith Jr. of Bucks County died Monday, January 4th, 2016 at the age of 69. Born in Upland, Delaware County, he was the son of the late Robert D. Smith and Nellie (Jennings) Smith. Bus graduated from Chester High School in 1964 and from Delaware Valley College in 1976. On August 19, 1967, he married Sandra Ploucher who remained his loving wife for 48 years.   Bus was a US Army veteran having served from 1966 to 1968 including a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 20th Engineer Brigade. After completing his service, Bus was employed as a commercial heat treater at the Robert Wooler Company in Dresher, PA for 46 years.   Bus is survived by his wife Sandra, his son Robert daughter-in-law Kim and grandchild Asia as well as by his siblings, sister Lissa Porter, brothers Geoff Smith and Lawrence Smith, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Adam.   Memorial services will be private.
