Robert H. Feeney, 85, of Jeffersonville, loving husband and father, passed away on December 26th after a peaceful holiday weekend surrounded by his family. Born in Norristown, Mr. Feeney was a lifelong resident of the Norristown area and a 1950 graduate of Norristown High School. He went to work for the Bell Telephone Co. as a coin collector in 1952 and retired from the company 45 years later as claims manager for the Philadelphia region. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. He was active over the years with the Knights of Columbus, the Bell Pioneers of America, and the Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club. He was a certified firearms instructor. During the 1970s and 1980s, he served as scoutmaster and in other adult leadership roles for Boy Scout Troop 670 of Jeffersonville. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in Sullivan County, Pa., both during deer hunting season and in the summer and fall months. He and a group of friends built and maintained a hunting cabin in Nordmont, Pa., known as the Valley Forge Club. Mr. Feeney was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Alice Keohane Feeney, who died on the day of his 81st birthday; by his parents, Charles and Blanche Feeney; and by a brother, Capt. Thomas C. Feeney, who was killed in World War II at the Battle of the Bulge. Surviving Mr. Feeney are his three children and their families, son Thomas and his wife Deborah of Hillsborough, N.J., and their daughters, Ryan Feeney of San Francisco, Calif., and Diane Feeney of West Chester; daughter Elizabeth Feeney and her partner Diana Hulboy of Philadelphia; and son Robert, his wife Christine and their sons, Owen and Robert, all of Philadelphia. Mr. Feeney is also survived by many beloved brothers- and sisters-in- law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton Street, Norristown. Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshocken. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
