Furlong Robert J., 88, of Jenkintown, peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Robert was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 25, 1929, a son of the late Elizabeth (Fennen) and John T. Furlong. Beloved husband of the late Carol (Schaefer) Furlong. Loving father of Robert J. Jr. (Cindy), Nancy Furlong, Michael (Shelia), Thomas (Nancy) and Patrick. Devoted grandfather of 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Dear brother of the late John T. Furlong. Bob served in the U.S. Navy, he was the former Police Chief of Jenkintown Borough, was a member of the Jenkintown Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Pioneer Fire Co. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday April 13, 2018 from 9-10:15 AM and a funeral mass at 10:30 AM both at Immaculate Conception BVM Church 602 West Ave. in Jenkintown, PA. His interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to Hospice at Holy Redeemer Hospital 1648 Huntingdon Pike, Meadowbrook, PA 19046 appreciated.
