Robert Paul Kratz, Lt. Col. retired USAF, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Mercy Suburban Hospital, East Norriton. He was 92. Mr. Kratz was a former resident of King of Prussia. For the past six years he resided at Normandy Farms Estates, Blue Bell. He was a US Army Bombardier in the 15th Air Corps and flew 53 missions over Europe in WW II. He remained active in the US Air Force Reserves. After being discharged from the service and until his retirement, he worked as a photographer for the Times Herald in Norristown. He was a very active member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Norristown, serving on its vestry for many years. He was also a member of Charity Lodge No. 190 for more than 50 years. Born in Norristown, PA on February 12, 1919, he was a son of the late Lawrence Kratz, Sr. and Alice (Haughton) Kratz. He was the husband of the late Mae (Milligan) Kratz. Surviving is his loving family including a brother, Richard A. Kratz and his wife, Beverly of Norristown, PA; two sisters, Betty Miller of Youngstown, AZ and Virginia Kratz Loughlin of King of Prussia, PA; many nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Kratz, Jr.; and a sister, Susan Kratz Noon.A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 535 Haws Ave., Norristown, PA 19401 on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning from 10 to 10:50am, at the church. Interment will be in the church's Memorial Garden.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church's Memorial Fund, 535 Haws Ave., Norristown, PA 19401.
