Robert G. Macht passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his home in King of Prussia, PA. He was 91. Bob worked as an electronic repairman for Western Electric Company. Bob was proud to be a US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Adirondack as a machinist mate from 1950 to 1954. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and VFW. Bob was handy and loved having a project, whether it was adding a room to the house, building a playset, or jumping in to help a friend. After retiring he enjoyed traveling the country, spending winters in Florida, gardening, visiting the casinos and spending time with his family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he enjoyed following the major sports teams. He was a lifelong pet parent of Boston Terrier dogs and will be missed by his sixth, Skipper. Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 19, 1930, he was a son of the late Lester and Anna (Bastian) Macht. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 64 years, Eileen C. (Thomas) Macht; two sons, Robert J. Macht and his wife, Judy, and David W. Macht; a daughter, Susan E. Smith and her husband, Frank; and four grandchildren: Eileen Smith, Frank Smith, Brandon Macht and Lexi Macht. He is predeceased by his sisters Edna O’Connnel, Myrtle Noble, Dorothy McBride and Mary Duda. Relatives and friends are invited to Robert’s Military Graveside Service at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road Newtown, PA on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:30am. Please arrive at the cemetery by 11:15am.
