Robert Allen Newell

Robert (Bob) Allen Newell, well-loved jokester, good friend and long-established curmudgeon of Audubon, NJ passed away November 25, 2014 at the Vitas Hospice, Philadelphia, PA. Born July 19, 1958, he graduated from Audubon High School in 1976 and went out west to be a ranch hand and work the rodeo circuit. After several years he returned east and worked for the family concrete business, eventually taking over and running it as his own.     A dyed-in-the-wool outdoorsman, Bob spent most weekends either hunting or fishing. Weeknights he could be found tinkering in his shop, making furniture for his home or cleaning his handgun collection. Bob's favorite spot on earth was Black Walnut Point Inn, Tilghman Island, MD.     The son of H. Bertram Newell and the late Myrtle F. Newell, he is survived by his father and siblings David Newell, Nancy deLivron, Ruth McCaughin and their families. He will be profoundly missed by his life partner Elizabeth, stepchildren Samantha and Kyle, his many friends, neighbors and work partners and his beloved dog Tonka, as well as every lady in distress for whom he was a knight in shining armor.
