Robert "Bob" Piermatteo

Robert “Bob” Piermatteo passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in E. Norriton, PA. He was 80. His wife of 59 years, Irene M. (Pastorius) Piermatteo, passed away on March 21, 2017 in Florida. They were residents of Bradenton, FL and were formerly of King of Prussia, PA. They were members of Sacred Heart Church and the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Augustine R.C. Churches, all in Bridgeport, PA, as well as St. Bernard Catholic Church in Holmes Beach, FL. Bob was a police officer serving as a Lieutenant for the Upper Merion Police Department, until his retirement in 1993. He was a US Air Force veteran and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Bob enjoyed golf and helping his neighbors. He loved his retirement with Irene in the warm sunshine of Florida. Born in Norristown, PA on April 15, 1937, he was a son of the late Nicholas and M. Susan (Zaraco) Piermatteo. He is survived by his loving family including two daughters, Donna (Paul) Winnick of Richland, PA and Vikki (Phil) Lewandowski of King of Prussia, PA; four grandchildren: Michael (Vicki) Winnick, Mary (Michael) McCarty, Alina Lewandowski and Noelle Lewandowski; four great-grandchildren: Alexander, Catherine & Elizabeth Winnick and Dylan McCarty; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nicole Ann Piermatteo, and a son, Robert Piermatteo, Jr. Robert and Irene’s Memorial Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives & friends on Saturday from 9:30 am to 10:50 am, at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
