Robert Smedley

Robert (Bob) Smedley, a longtime resident of Levittown, PA, passed peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the age of 95.

Bob was born in Philadelphia in 1930, graduated from Germantown High School where he played football.  He went on to study drafting and had a successful career working as a designer engineer for various companies.

Through the years, Bob enjoyed playing chess, bowling, skiing, coaching his daughters' softball teams and then watching his grandchildren participate in sports.  He was a devoted Truman High School football and baseball fan.  Bob could be seen daily walking his golden retriever, Beau, through Goldenridge and also hiking in Tyler Park.  

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Sara.  He was the loving father of Robin McNaughton of Aston, PA, Diane Mitzel and her husband John Mitzel of Collegeville, PA, Bonnie Miles and her husband Pete Miles of Langhorne, PA.  Bob was "PopPop" to Jennifer Johnston (Artie), Gary Curi (Amy), Angela Miles (Carl Cheeseman), Benjamin Miles and Nicholas Miles.  He was a great-grandfather to Molly Johnston, Gracie Johnston, Jackson Johnston, Kyra Curci, Lila Curci and Mario Lewis.

A gathering for family and friends will be planned for a future date.
