The Eternal Life of Roger A. Pinnel is Hereby Decreed
Roger A. Pinnel, 82, of Elkins Park, PA passed away Sunday, September 1st, at Hillcrest Center in Wyncote. He always said he would wake up one Sunday morning and go to an eternal church service.
Roger was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 25, 1942, a son of the late Josephine (Castiglione) and Charles B. Pinnel.
Loving husband of Frances Bailey (Sweeger) Pinnel. Devoted father of Joshua R. and Peter B. Pinnel
Roger is also survived by his grandson Shayne Medvetz, and two granddaughters, Francesca, and Eliana Pinnel, hopefully with more to come.
During his lifetime Roger was an earthly Angel born from the Name of God. He is risen to guard and protect us.
Known as the guardian of heaven during his time with the Civil Air Patrol Lieutenant Colonel Roger a Pinnel, JUSA retired, Roger was an Eagle Scout and encouraged his boys in scouting as well. He attended seminary at Concordia Lutheran seminary in Fort Wayne IN. He subsequently worked intermittently as a minister throughout his whole life. He also worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an upper-level manager where he was an extremely gifted and efficient state bureaucrat. Known as “Dear” by his beloved family, Roger was an avid railfan. He now is employed by Higher as the conductor of the Opus Dei, as old rail fans never die, they just get sidetracked!
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday, September 12th from 10 - 11 followed by his religious service at 11 AM both held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church 1224 Melrose Ave. Elkins Park, PA 19027.
