Rose Colfax, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on January 8, 2017. The daughter of the late Antonio and Concetta (Coppola) DiDomenico, Rose was the second of seven children and grew up in Jenkintown, PA. She later lived in Ardsley and was an active member of Queen of Peace Parish for more than 60 years, participating in such activities as Mother’s Club and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She was also a leader for a local Girl Scouts troop. Rose worked for Mrs. Smith’s in Philadelphia and Utility Line Construction (a subsidiary of Asplundh) in Horsham. She enjoyed most being with people, especially her friends and her family, whom she loved deeply. She is survived by her son Bayard Colfax and his wife Sandi, of Abington; her daughter Barbara Coyne and her husband Peter, of Hillsboro, OR; her sister Nancy Coughlin and her husband Neil, of Lansdale; her grandchildren, Christopher Dumas and his wife Renee, of Abington; Daniel Coyne and his wife Tami, of Manchester, NH; Alexander Coyne and his wife Carla, of Chesapeake, VA; her great-grandchildren Nathaniel Dumas and Samuel Dumas of Abington, and Bentley Coyne and Skyler Coyne, of Manchester, NH; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Rose is preceded in death by her husband Bayard; her sisters Josephine, Dorothy, and Rita; and her brothers John and Vincent. Services will take place on Monday, January 16th. Family and friends are invited to a viewing, 9:30-10:30 am, at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception BVM Church, Jenkintown. Interment will be private.
