Rose M. (Perone) Gallagher passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. She was 81. Mrs. Gallagher was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. She worked as a bookkeeper for Gallagher Excavating, Inc. in King of Prussia, PA, until her retirement in 1990. Rose was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School, Class of 1946. She was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. She was also a very active member of the Upper Merion Senior Center, where she was the coordinator of fundraising for the years 2000 and 2001 and their holiday dinner at the former Camelot for many years. Rose was an avid reader, bowler, and bingo and card player. She enjoyed fishing, boating, and snowmobiling and bus tours through the states. Rose belonged to a sing-a-long and band of which she was the founder. Most of all, she was dedicated to her family. Born in Bridgeport, PA on September 2, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Antimo and Cecilia (Cicala) Perone. Surviving are her loving family including her husband of 60 years, William Gallagher, Sr.; a son, William Gallagher, Jr. and his wife, Esther of King of Prussia, PA; three grandchildren: William, Joseph and Krystle Gallagher; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert, who died in 1996; 2 brothers, Vito and Anthony Perone; and a sister, Daisy Bono.Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. John T. Conway, Pastor. Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
