Rose T. (Ebner) Kantz passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at her home in Bridgeport, PA. She was 92. Mrs. Kantz graduated from the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Allentown, PA, and then worked as a registered nurse for the former Sacred Heart Hospital in Norristown, PA, until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bridgeport, PA. Born in Allentown, PA on March 4, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Anton and Mary (Juschitch) Ebner; and the wife of the late Stephen F. Kantz, who died in 1984. Surviving is her loving family including 6 children: Stephen (Anne) Kantz, Rosemary (John) Wensel, Monica Cirata, Michael (Lauren) Kantz; Kristina (Chuck) Burns and Corinne (Mike) Pishock; 15 grandchildren: Stephen (Kristin), Gregory (Jenn), Shara, Christian, Brian, Jenise (Donald), Dana (Chris), Stephanie, Rachel, Liesel (Jeff), Annmarie (Aaron), Michael (Margaret Ann), Seth, Chad (Alexandra) and Conner (Anne); 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Darlene Ebner and Pauline Feichtl; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Pishock. Rose was the last surviving of her twelve siblings: Mary (Frank) Sopper, John (Amelia) Ebner, Jennie Ebner, Frank (Alice) Ebner, Joseph Ebner, Theresia Ebner, Anthony (Pauline) Ebner, Helen (George) Gerenser, Stephen Ebner, Leo (Darlene) Ebner, and Peter Ebner. Rose unselfishly attended to the needs of family, friends, and neighbors. She established the Bridgeport Senior Citizens group in 1970, which started out at St. Monica’s Hall. An active parishioner of the former St. Augustine’s Church, Rose enjoyed being a Eucharistic minister for more than 30 years. With the Red Cross, she volunteered at local blood drives for many years. Rose enjoyed attending many of the social functions, especially dances, of the Knights of Columbus with her husband, Steve. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, and once the dishes were cleared from the table, it was time to play cards. We all learned a few tricks from Mom, especially ‘the scorekeeper always wins.’ The Philadelphia Eagles and other major sports events kept her cheering out loud at the television. Always outgoing, Rose spent a lot of time discussing the news of the day with neighbors and friends on her front porch. Relatives & friends are invited to Rose’s viewing at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 9 to 10:45 am; with her Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s memory to the Jared Pishock Memorial Fund (www.jaredpishockfoundation.com) or St. Joseph’s Indian School (Chamberlain, SD). Arrangements are by the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PA. Condolences to the family at www.bacchifh.com
