Rosemarie B. Gassen

Rosemarie B. “Rose” (Busciacco) Gassen passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She was 86. Mrs. Gassen was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, PA. She was a graduate of Norristown High School and worked in customer service for TV Guide. Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, both in Bridgeport. She was a sponsor for over-eaters anonymous, and a den mother for the Cub Scouts. Rose was a Philadelphia sports enthusiast, an animal lover, and enjoyed camping at the Sea Grove Campgrounds. She was the center of her family, had a heart of gold and made friends everywhere she went. Born in Norristown, PA on April 13, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Buono) Busciacco. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Gassen, Sr., who died in 2012, after 60 years of marriage. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Beverly Gassen Mattioli of Bridgeport, PA; three sons: Bruce C. Gassen of Galloway, NJ, Brian L. Gassen of Bridgeport and Brad J. Gassen and his wife, Denise, of Bridgeport; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by three sons: Charles “Chad Gassen, Jr., Barry T. Gassen, Sr. and infant baby, Vincent; a brother, John Busciacco; and three sisters: Theresa Schofield, Josephine Treffler and Eleanor Richards. Relatives & friends are invited to Rose’s viewings on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 6 to 8:00 pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA; also Friday morning from 9 to 9:50 am, at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Bridgeport. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, E. Norriton, PA.
