Rudolph Velebir died on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his residence in Wilmington, Delaware. He was 91. Born in Sand Coulee, Montana on January 12, 1918, he graduated from Hazelton High School in 1936 and McCann School of Business in 1937. He was a WW II veteran, a retired Lt. Col., US Army Reserve and was a retired US Treasury Department Supervisory Internal Revenue Agent. In his civilian capacity, he was instrumental in developing the Team Audit method of examining the Federal Income Tax returns by the IRS of the giants of industry. Rudolph was predeceased by his wife, Betty Lou, who died in November of 2003. He is survived by three daughters: Violet Batejan of Chester Springs, PA, Victoria Beltran of Prospect Park, PA and Roxanne Velebir of East Fallowfield, PA and a step-daughter, Linda Schaefer of Cape May, NJ. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. A private celebration of his life will be held by family and loved ones.
