Ruth E. (DeVaney) Deiss, a homemaker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at her daughter’s home in King of Prussia, PA. She was 105. Mrs. Deiss was a resident of Bryn Mawr, PA. She was a member of St. James United Church of Christ in Havertown, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 3, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Thomas James DeVaney and Olive M. (Dean) DeVaney; and the wife of the late Edward William Deiss. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Barbara R. Lewis; six grandchildren: Robert (Lisa) Deiss, Kimberlee Russell, Karen (Ian) Shaffer, Deborah (Thomas) Clausen, Donna (Brad) Freeman and William (Kimberly) Harshaw, Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her companion/care giver, Lisa Condon. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. Deiss and Edward W. Deiss Jr.; a great-grandson, Michael Colflesh; and a son-in-law, William Y. Lewis. Relatives and friends are invited to Ruth’s Graveside Service at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026 on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to St. James United Church of Christ, 135 Myrtle Ave, Havertown, PA 19083 and/or the American Cancer Society at cancer.org Arrangements are by the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PA.
