Ruth E. Knauer

Ruth E. (Rutter) Knauer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Towne Manor West in Norristown, PA. She was 93. Mrs. Knauer, a homemaker, was a previous resident of Swedeland, PA. She was a member of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church. Born in Norristown, PA on June 9, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (McHenry) Rutter. She was the wife of the late Marvin J. "Ike" Knauer, Jr., who died in 1997. Surviving are her loving family including a son, Paul E. Knauer and his wife, Winifred "Winnie" of Swedeland, PA; a daughter, Marlene R. Knauer of Malvern, PA; one granddaughter, Paula Kirk; three great-grandsons: Michael, Jacob and Nathan Kirk; a brother, Norman Rutter and his wife, Frances of Eagleville, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Earl, Robert and Edward Rutter.Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Peter N. Smith, Senior Pastor of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the funeral home.
