Ruth E. Schantz

Ruth E. Schantz passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Manor Care Health Services in King of Prussia, PA. She was 76. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, PA. She worked as a machinist for the former Castelli Engineering Co. in Bridgeport, PA and also for the Sharps Co. in Plymouth Twp., PA. Born in Bridgeport, PA on August 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Muriel M. (Airey) and Newton R. Schantz, Sr. Surviving is her loving family including two sisters-in- law, Mary Lou (Wambold) Schantz of Norristown, PA and Diane Anderson of Trooper, PA; 13 nieces and nephews: Donna, Sally, Roy, Mary Lou, Robyn, Darin, Ruthi, Troy, Tracy, Kenny, Michael, Billy, and Tammy; many great nieces and nephews; and many great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Newton R. Jr., Richard R., Kenneth and Gerald D. "Bridgeport Jerry" Schantz.Relatives and friends are invited to Ruth's Funeral Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 10:00AM. Her viewings will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8pm and Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:50am, both at the funeral home.
