Sally Ann (O'Connor) Brohoski

February 15, 1934 — May 11, 2018

Sally Ann O’Connor was born in Detroit, MI on February 15, 1934 to Edward and Marjorie O’Connor. Sally’s parents divorced at an early age and Sally was lovingly raised by her mother and her grandparents, Edna and Erwin Russell. Sally received a Catholic elementary school education and then attended Immaculata High School in Detroit. Sally went on to Michigan State University in East Lansing and graduated with a degree in Interior Design. Sally graduated and began her career as an Interior Designer in the Detroit area. Sally met the love of her life at a Young Republican’s Party, after being fixed up by her best friends Barbara and Paul. Sally married Stanley Brohoski June 13, 1959 and started a family very soon thereafter. Stanley’s job relocated them to the suburbs of Philadelphia, and Sally immediately joined the Welcome Wagon Club and became very involved in other activities where she met friends for a lifetime. Sally and Stan continued growing their family and made the Philadelphia suburbs their forever home. St. Margaret’s Parish in Narberth was the perfect fit, and it was there that the children attended Catholic school and created very fond memories. After a couple of moves, Sally and Stan settled at Sunrise Assisted Living as their last residence. Sally was known for her sweet and gentle personality. She was loved by all and appreciated for her warm and humble personality. Sally possessed a sense of humor and wit like no other, even up until her final days. She had a way of looking at the world through rose colored glasses. She was an avid sewer of custom pillows and earned an income sewing as she raised her family. Her true loves were her family, Avalon, NJ where she and Stan lived during the summer months, talk radio, reading, and cooking. Sally loved to host and entertain, often creating amazing gourmet meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed long, meaningful conversations about kids, politics, travel or any other topic of the day. She was well read and always up on current events. Sally loved to laugh and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. Sally and her late husband Stanley were avid travelers, enjoying adventurous trips to Europe, Australia, and Asia. Shortly after Stan passed away on December 22, 2017, Sally received a cancer diagnosis. The disease took her quickly. Sally’s memory did not serve her the way it used to, so she asked about her beloved Stan’s whereabouts every day. Sally and Stan were apart for four and ½ months until she took his hand and joined him in heaven. Sally is survived by her loving family including her children: Michael (Denise), Suzanne (Michael) Cirino, Dianne Burkitt, and Peter (Cindy); 11 grandchildren: Meghan, Erin, Michael Jr., Daniel, Paige, Ryan, Brooke, Cole, Alex, Andrew, and Samantha. Her visitation will be at St. Norbert Catholic Church, 50 Leopard Rd., Paoli, PA 19301 on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 10:00 to 10:50am with Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Inurnment will be private.
