Salvatore "Sal" Demarco

Salvatore “Sal” DeMarco, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Fox Sub-acute at Clara Burke in Plymouth Meeting, PA. He was 74. Mr. DeMarco served in the Italian Army before immigrating to America in 1968 and becoming a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, both in Bridgeport, PA, and Holy Saviour Church’s Holy Name Society. He worked as a welder for the Gambone Steel Co. in Norristown, PA for 33 years. His hobbies included watching Italian TV and soccer, fishing, canning his homegrown tomatoes and making wine. Most of all, he loved to work in his garden. Born in Montella, Italy on January 20, 1942, he was a son of the late Generoso and Rachela (Fiore) DeMarco. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 47 years, Maria (Sabato) DeMarco; three sons: Generoso (Stacey) DeMarco of Blue Bell, PA, Antontio (Michelle) DeMarco of King of Prussia, PA and Salvatore DeMarco, Jr. of Bridgeport, PA; two grandchildren, Quinn & Maclane; three step-grandchildren: Jennifer, Tommy & David; his siblings: Antonio (Maria) DeMarco of Montella, Italy, Carmela Giannone of Plymouth Meeting, PA, Mario (Anna) DeMarco of Montella, Gerarolina (Vince) Della Buono of Norristown, Eleonora (Nick) Colucci of Switzerland, and Rocco (Rosa) DeMarco of Montella; and a sister-in-law, Rosa DeMarco. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carmen, and a brother-in-law, Sal. Relatives & friends are invited to Sal’s Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Bridgeport, PA on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:30 am. His viewing will be Sunday evening from 6 to 8:00 pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
