Salvatore R. Gambone

Salvatore R. Gambone, age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Meadows at Shannondell in Audubon, PA. Born in Bridgeport, PA on March 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Caterina (Scandone) Gambone and the husband of the late Jane (Sharkey) Gambone. Survivors include his son, Gian Carlo Gambone and his wife, Shannon Gallagher, sisters Pearl Ritrovato and Amelia Brodie; and many nieces and nephews of the extended Gambone and Sharkey families.

Sal was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and West Chester State College (University) having earned a bachelor and master’s degree in Music education.

After schooling, Sal served two years in the Army as a musician. After his service, he was employed by the Parkland School District in Allentown, Pa as an Elementary Instrumental Music Instructor, retiring from his teaching career in 1986. Sal and his wife, Jane then enjoyed many years of travel.

Relatives and friends are invited to Sal’s viewing at Visitation B.V.M Church (Upper Church), 196 N. Trooper Rd., Eagleville, PA 19403 on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 10-10:45am, with his Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery in King of Prussia, Pa.

The family requests there be no flowers sent but contributions/ Mass Intentions may be made to Visitation BVM Church, at the above address.
