Salvatrice (Virzi) Aversa

Salvatrice (Virzi) Aversa passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital in Lansdale, PA. She was 72. Mrs. Aversa, a homemaker, was a resident of Lansdale, PA. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler, PA. Salvatrice loved her family and will be sadly missed by all of her children and grandchildren. We love you mom and Nonna. Born in Palermo, Sicily on September 20, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Domenica (LoSasso) Virzi. She was the wife of the late Cosimo Aversa, who died in 2005. Surviving are her loving family including 4 sons, Vincenzo Aversa of Lansdale, PA, Guiseppe Aversa and his wife, Franny of Switzerland, Antonio Aversa and his wife, Patricia of Ambler, PA and Franco Aversa and his wife, Mary Beth of Ambler, PA; 5 daughters, Dominica Sarrortore and her husband, Frank of Switzerland, Josephine Calcagni of Ambler, PA, Rita Aversa of Warminster, PA, Maria Colletti and her husband, Charles of W. Norriton, PA and Rosaria Aversa of Lansdale, PA; 20 grandchildren, especially Rosie, Maria, Cosimo & Anthony Aversa; 3 great-grand-children; 3 brothers, Jack, Mario and Fino; 4 sisters, Fina, Antoinette, Paula and Josephine; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Notaro; and a brother, Salvatore Virzi.Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA 19002 on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 10:30am. Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. Her viewings are Monday evening from 6 to 8pm at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:20am, at the church.In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help defray the cost of the funeral.
