Sammie Mccoy

Sammie McCoy, 72, of Bensalem, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

Sammie was born on October 19,1950 to the late Ossie (nee Scott) and Leo McCoy in Richland, GA.

Raised in Trenton, NJ, he graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1969 and went to study Business at Mercer County College. Shortly after college at the age of 20, he enlisted into the U.S Air Force where he served his country proudly for thirty years and retired as a Master Sergeant.

In 1978, he was stationed at Torrejon Air Force Base in Spain when he met his beloved wife, Candida (nee Roldan Perez) McCoy, and they wed in 1981 where they were married for forty-one years. They started a family and had three children, David, Natalie, and Jessica.

His interests included watching sports, fishing, playing online poker games, traveling with his family to the regions of the Midwest and East Coast of the US, and caring for his two grandsons, Adrian, and Jaden McCoy.

Sammie McCoy is predeceased by his parents, Leo and Ossie McCoy and sister, Leola McCoy. He is survived by his wife Candida McCoy. Loving father to son, David McCoy (Rosa); two daughters, Natalie Gaynor (Richard) and Jessica McCoy. Doting grandfather to eight grandchildren. Beloved by his relatives- guardian, Willie Bob Wells; sister, Jessie McCoy; niece, Ericka McCoy; aunt, Nellie (McCoy) Jackson; and many other members of the McCoy family.

Graveside services for immediate and extended family members of the McCoy family will be held at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2pm.
