Samuel V. Dureka

Samuel V. Dureka Jr., age 82 passed away on April 1, 2024 at Phoenixville Hospital. He was born in Richmond, VA on August 22, 1941 to the late Samuel and Eva (nee Hatchel) Dureka. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (nee Curran), son, David, daughter, Michele Dureka-Carroll, sister Doris, brothers John and Vince.

Sam is survived by his daughter, Christine Holland (Kenneth); 3 grandchildren, Nicole Bechtel, Aiden Carroll, Grace Carroll; sister, Jane Burke (Norman); brother, James (Tami) several nieces and nephews; and a loving dog, Noodles.

Sam graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School. He had a long career, as a tool and die machinist, supervisor and Quality Assurance inspector working in this field up to 81 years old. Sam was a wonderful son, husband, father and Pop-Pop. All that met him loved him for his genuine caring of people and animals.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 9:45-10:45 am followed by a funeral mass at 11 am at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Eagleville, Pa 19403. Interment will be private on Monday at St. Patrick Cemetery, Norristown, Pa.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Sam’s name may be made to the Animal rescue of your choice or Viola Valley Dog Inc.
