Samuel "Sam" Porrecca

Samuel “Sam” Stephen Porrecca passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Sam attended school in Bridgeport. He received his Bachelors of Science in Sociology at Haverford College, where he played football, baseball, basketball and track. Sam worked in the computer consulting field as a general manager for many years, starting his career at Penn Mutual and retiring from Cigna. Sam enjoyed sports, music, reading, computer games and traveling. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Born in Norristown, PA on September 2, 1946, he was the son of the late Angelo M. and Josephine M. (Delmonico) Porrecca. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 53 years, Cynthia (Casbarro) Porrecca; a son, Stephen Porrecca and his wife, Geralyn; 2 daughters, Lynn Krupa and her husband, Nathan and Kristi Gudbrandsen and her husband, Eric; 5 grandchildren: Allison, Chelsea, and Katelyn Porrecca, Colin Malek, and Kyle Krupa; 3 sisters: Marie E. Politowski and her husband, Jim, Angela Weeden and her husband, Rich, and Bernadette Cornacchia; and many other loving family members. Funeral services and interment will be private at the request of the family.
