Sheila Agnes Sargent

Sheila Agnes Sargent (nee Dowling) was called into eternal life on September 9th, 2026 at her home with her family at her side. She was 87 years old.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Garden City, Long Island NY. She was a natural student and received her Bachelor of History at New Rochelle College and Master of Education at Hoftsra University in New York. She married John Sargent in 1969 in Garden City, New York. They relocated to King of Prussia, PA where they raised 6 children. They were happily married for 45 years until his passing from cancer in 2014.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John, 2 infant children, Joseph and Brian and daughter in law Jennifer Zorn-Sargent. She leaves behind her sons John, Bill, Stephen and Daniel, two daughters, Meghan and Aileen. Her grandchildren, Zachary, Carter, Dylan, Riley, Kaileigh, Jacob, Fiona and Griffin will all miss her very much.

She was an example how to be a loving wife, mother and friend. She and her husband loved being a part of Catholic Pre-Cana and Marriage Encounter community. She was a proud member of the Golden Girls group- her lifelong friends and sisterhood. She was a force of love, faith and humor. She was an active member of Mother of Divine Providence, the former St Augustine’s of Bridgeport and Sacred Heart Parish, Bridgeport. She loved baking, crafts, reading and traveling all around the world with her husband and friends. She brought joy to everyone’s lives. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren and her friends with passion and joy. She will be dearly missed by all.

Sheila’s viewing will be held on Sunday, September 13, from 2-4 pm at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA 19405. There will be a second viewing held on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd. King of Prussia, PA 19406 from 9:30am to 10:15am, with her funeral mass beginning at 10:30am. Please note, words of remembrance will start at 10:25am. Interment will be at St. Augustine’s Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
