Sherry

Sheryl (sherry) M Colkett (nee Kelso) died Friday April 5 from small cell lung cancer. She fought to the very end with her loving family beside her.

Sherry was a graduate of Abington High School. After school she lived briefly in Germany. She was a lifelong resident of Glenside Pa.

Sherry had a passion for horses. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 50 years, Robert (Bob) Colkett. Together they spent their best years living Sherry’s dream of owning and riding their horses. Sherry and Bob were always together. They had a love and a bond like none other. True soulmates. They also enjoyed their two beachfront condos in Margate NJ.

Together they raised their 5 children and are survived by 4. Michelle (Kevin) Chubb, Gary (Denise) Colkett, Curt (Joann) Colkett, and Tracy Maier, who was her mom’s rock during her illness.

Sherry is preceded in death by her late son Brian Colkett and her parents Wallace and Marian Kelso.

Sherry is also survived by her 9 grandchildren Brandon, Courtney, Tyler, Cierra, Nicholas, Crystal, Gabriel, Mason, and Victoria. Also her 2 great grandchildren.

Sherry had a lifelong love for dogs and will be missed by her 2 dogs Cody and Jackie. Cody was her best friend.

Sherry is remembered as a kind, fun loving, stubborn and strong woman. She always made time for her children and never broke a promise. She was a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. She will forever be missed. She will live in the hearts that loved her for all of eternity.

Family and friends are invited to her viewing Friday, April 12th from 11am-12:30pm followed by a memorial service at 12:30pm both at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046. Her interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery.
