Sophie B. (Wojnarowicz) Difilippo

Sophie B. (Wojnarowicz) DiFilippo passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Bridgeport, PA. She was 95. Mrs. DiFilippo worked as a quality control person for the former Philco Ford in Lansdale, PA. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bridgeport, PA and the church's BVM Sodality. Sophie was an election volunteer in Bridgeport. She enjoyed gardening and loved being with her family. She was known for her great cooking and baking and everyone who came to her house felt the warmth of her hospitality. Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 7, 1915, she was a daughter of the late George and Victoria (Gimza) Wojnarowicz. She was the wife of the late John B. DiFilippo, who died in 1998. Surviving is her loving family including two sons, Donald J. DiFilippo and his wife, Gloria of Pottstown, PA and Joseph A. DiFilippo and his wife, Cheryl of Quakertown, PA; four grandchildren: David, Deborah, Krista and Tara; seven great-grandchildren: Kayla, Tabi, Zoey, Max, Jaira, Taylor and Justin; brother, Joseph Wagner and his wife, Mary of Bridgeport, PA; sister, Verna DiSantis of Conshohocken, PA; brother, Stosh Wisniewski and his wife, Patty of Ridley Park, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ben, Anthony, Walter and John; and four sisters, Adele Wagner, Eleanor DeFusco, Helen Wagner and Wanda Wojnarowicz.Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 10:30am. Sophie's viewing will be Monday morning from 9 to 10:20am, at the church. Entombment in St. Patrick's Cemetery Mausoleum, E.
