Sophie C. (DeAntonio) Farina passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Regina Nursing Center in Norristown, PA. She was 100. Mrs. Farina was a resident of King of Prussia, PA, and a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church, King of Prussia. She was a “Rosie the Riveter” who made fighter planes during WW II. Sophie enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and sewing. She loved all animals, especially cats. Born in West Chester, PA on July 17, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (DiRocco) DeAntonio. She was the wife of the late Edward “Hogan” Farina, who died in 2003. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Barbara F. Giangiulio and her husband, Leo, of King of Prussia; two sisters, Mary Melchiorre and Pam DeNaro, both of Florida; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Louis, Harry, Enrico and Ramon. Sophie's Prayer Service will be held at the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd. 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 10 to 10:50 am. Interment will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
