Sister Cyprian "Florence" Branco passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Sacred Heart Convent in Manhattan, NY. She was 96. Sr. Branco was a Missionary Sister of the Sacred Heart since 1955. She worked in many locations all over the world but most recently she spent 10 years in Philadelphia, PA and the past 2 years in New York City. She was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. Born in Swedeland, PA on March 19, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Carmen and Maria (Manzo) Branco. Surviving is her loving family including 7 nephews and nieces: Rose Marie O'Donnell, Carmen Picard and his wife, Madeline, Salvatore Picard and his wife, Marlene, Anthony Picard and his wife, Marilyn, Richard Branco and his wife, Joyleen, Carmen Branco and his wife, Jean and Linda Darnell; and many great-nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Salvatore, John and Anthony Branco; a sister, Rose Picard; and a nephew, Stanley Branco. Sr. Cyprian's Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St. Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00am. Officiating will be the Most Reverend Louis A. DeSimone, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Philadelphia. Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning from 10 to 11am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sr. Cyprian's memory to the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Stella Maris Provincial Office, 222 E. 19th St., Suite 5B, New York, NY 10003.Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PA.www.bacchifuneralhome.com
