Stella M. (Pickowick) Zaraco

January 31, 1923 — August 20, 2014

Stella M. (Pickowick) Zaraco of King of Prussia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years young. Stella was from Swedesburg and graduated from Upper Merion High School. During her high school years, she met her future husband, Kenneth Zaraco, and Stella and Ken were married in May of 1943 and enjoyed 65 years of marriage until Ken's passing in 2008. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. They raised three daughters and Stella helped Ken operate his carpentry business. Stella had a naturally bright, cheerful and happy disposition her entire life, even when battling illness. She loved her family, her Polish heritage, hosting her extended family for Holiday gatherings, boating at the shore in the boat that her husband built, knitting hats for babies in the maternity ward at Lankenau Hospital, casino trips and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stella was the rock of her family and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by everyone that knew her. Born in Swedesburg, PA on January 31, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Karolina (Lachowska) Pickowick. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth F. Zaraco, and a sister, Helen Domurat. Surviving are her loving family and friends including three daughters: Carole Sue (Ron) Freedland-Zaraco of Douglassville, Patricia (Salvatore) Salamone of King of Prussia and Deborah (William) Holdsworth of Collegeville; nine grandchildren: Lisa Eccker, Jennifer Naples, Karlee Salamone, Adrienne Puco Kummerer, Kenneth Salamone, Kristina Salamone, and William, John and Kenneth Holdsworth; seven great-grandchildren: Chelsea Oshansky, Olivia, Maddalena & Charlee Isabella Naples, Jason Kummerer, Kenneth A. Jr. and Grace Salamone; dear friend, Carl DeHaven; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Mrs. Zaraco's Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St. Swedesburg, PA 19405 on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 10am. Her viewings are Monday evening from 6 to 8pm at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Route 202) Bridgeport, PA 19405 and Tuesday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery in King of Prussia, PA. Donations in Stella's name can be made to the Neonatal Unit at Lankenau Medical Center, 100 E.
