Stephen Andrew Danilak, Sr.

Stephen A. Danilak Sr., 74 of Willow Grove, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 after complications from a devastating fire in his home. He was surrounded by his three loving sons and daughters-in-law at the time of his passing at Temple University Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Vereb) Danilak. Steve was a loving father, survived by his three sons and their families: Stephen A. and Anne Danilak, daughter, Emily; Tom and Alison Danilak, son, Benjamin and daughter, Rachel; Jeffrey and Beth Danilak, daughters, Julia and Paige. Steve and his family spent time in Philadelphia and Bucks counties before he spent the past thirty years in a close-knit neighborhood in Willow Grove. As a loving father, he committed himself to others through his service to his family, his church and his country as a Marine. In his working days, he spent a majority of his career at UPS and Atkinson Freight Company. Not one for an office job, Steve was happiest while driving on the open road. Above all he enjoyed the salt air, back bays and deep waters of the Chesapeake with his family. While he was not able to sail the world, he was able to take his three sons and loved ones on sea adventures that were larger than life itself. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, but through the years preferred to be outside working in his yard rather than “wasting days watching mediocre sports.” Above all he cherished the precious moments he was able to spend with his five grandchildren. His Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Grace Presbyterian Church 444 York Rd. Jenkintown, PA 19046. Calling hours are from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's honor to the Upper Moreland Fire Department, 227 Davisville Rd., Willow Grove, PA 19090 or the Temple University Hospital Burn Center, 3401 North Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
