Stephen A. Notaro

Stephen A. “Steve” Notaro passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Brandywine Living at Senior Suites in Norristown, PA. He was 87. Mr. Notaro was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a sergeant from 1953 to 1955. He graduated from Hazelton High School, Class of 1950; attended college on the GI Bill, receiving a Bachelor’s degree from Kutztown State College and a Master’s degree in political science from Villanova University. He worked as a teacher for over 34 years. For 30 of those years he taught social studies for the Colonial School District, until his retirement in 1993. Steve was also active in real estate sales for Nolan Brothers for 20 years. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Plymouth Meeting, PA, where he was an usher. He enjoyed keeping up with current events and world politics. Steve’s favorite thing was spending time and traveling to the shore with his grandchildren. Born in Kelayres, PA on October 1, 1932, he was a son of the late Joseph and Santa (Tornebene) Notaro. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 59 years, Elaine (Ottaviano) Notaro; son, Stephen J. Notaro and his wife, Olga, of Plymouth Meeting, PA; daughter, Megan L. Phucas of and her companion, Rick Boyer, of Fleetwood, PA; three grandchildren: Alex B., Victoria L. and Danielle M.; three brothers: Joseph Notaro, Jerry Notaro and Mauro Notaro and his wife, Grace; sister, Mary Lerario; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by brother, Frank Notaro; and sisters: Nancy Riccio, Santa Porpiglia, Virginia Bumbulsky and Anita Rossi. A viewing for Steve's family will be held at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Rd., Plymouth Meeting, PA on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 10:00am to 10:50am, with his Funeral Mass immediately following at 11:00am. Entombment will be in St. Patrick Mausoleum. The Funeral will be livestreamed on Thursday, June 25, 2020, starting at 10:00 am until the end of Mass; and again starting around 12:15 pm for the entombment.
