Stephen A. Principe passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in E. Norriton, PA, after a brief illness. He was 95. Mr. Principe was a former resident of Brooklyn, NY (Flatbush) and retired to Toms River, NJ. He then moved to Audubon, PA, with his wife to live with his son and daughter-in-law for the past 13 years. Mr. Principe worked as a grocery clerk for the A & P Supermarket in Brooklyn, NY. Stephen was a US Navy veteran of WWII, serving during combat aboard the USS Kearney. He was an avid reader, enjoyed walking and was a familiar face at many local establishments. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 6, 1921, to the late Francesco and Marianne (Pera) Principe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara (Pisano) Principe, who died in 2007. Surviving is his loving family including a son, John S. Principe and his wife, Karen, of Audubon, PA; six grandchildren: John, Stephen & Christopher Principe and his long time girlfriend, Christie Deveney, Jamie Cacciatore, Adrianne Wagner and her husband, Sean, and Nicole Hill and her husband, James; nine great-grandchildren: Brandon, Dylan, Alexis, Kayla, Lily, Taylor, Sophia, Sadie and Scarlett; a brother, Vincent Principe and his wife, Teresa, of Naples, FL; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Relatives & friends are invited to attend Stephen’s Funeral Mass at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Trooper, PA on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00 am. His viewing will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:50 am, at the church. Interment will be private in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
