Stephen P. Reid, 66, of Wayne, PA, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Darby, PA on July 18, 1946, he was a son of the late Milton and Amiel (Hagen) Reid. He graduated from Marple Newtown High School, received his degree from La Salle University and earned his MBA from Widener University. He worked for Johnson & Johnson for many years, and provided financial planning and accounting services for his own clients.Steve proudly served as a US Marine during the Vietnam Era. He was an avid hiker who also enjoyed biking and spending time at his beach house in Ocean City, NJ. During his retirement, Steve was active in Meals on Wheels and, despite having cancer himself, volunteered because he wanted to put smiles on the faces of those who were sick. Most of all, though, Steve would do and always did everything he could for his family. Steve was a loyal and loving husband of 44 years to his surviving wife, Millie (Deery) Reid. He was a devoted father and mentor to his three children: Eric Reid and his wife, Jennifer, of Collegeville, PA; Mike Reid and his fiancée, Josette Sadowska, of Fort Washington, PA; and Lesley Brown and her husband, Joe, of Harleysville, PA. He was also a dedicated grandfather to his two much-adored grandchildren, Noelle and Nadine Reid. He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Harry Reid. Steve will be missed and remembered by all of his family and friends.Steve's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine R.C.
