Stephen Louis Savo

Stephen L. Savo of Audubon, Pa., passed away peacefully on February 1, 2021 surrounded by his family after a long battle with ALS. Born in Philadelphia on March 8, 1956, Stephen is the son of Mary (Russo) Savo and the late Louis V. Savo, King of Prussia, Pa. He was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1974, and LaSalle College with a degree in Business Personnel and Labor Relations. Stephen was a dispatcher for Whitemarsh Police Department before becoming a Police Officer for the Borough of Bridgeport for 30 years. He was proud to serve the Bridgeport community and did so in many capacities. He was a founding member and sniper for the Central Montgomery County Emergency Response Team for 10 years and an active member of the Montgomery County F.O.P. Lodge 14. Stephen was a man of many talents. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved gardening, cooking, the beach, and listening to country music. Most importantly, he was a loving husband and devoted father who enjoyed spending time with his family. Survived by is his wife of 35 years, Anita (Niedzielski) Savo, a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Stephanie; his brothers Michael Savo of King of Prussia, Pa., John Savo and his wife, Debbie of Brigantine, NJ, and a sister, Barbara Gordon of Harleysville, Pa., his godmother Joan (Russo) Capone, many nieces and nephews, three great-nieces and many cousins. “It has been a long journey and today, I left for heaven.
