Stephen J. Traitz, Jr., age 79, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at home in Trooper, PA. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Stephen J., Sr. and Sarah Jane (Smith). He is also preceded in death by his dearest wife, Barbara A. and his brother William. He is survived by two sons, Stephen J. III and Joseph; three daughters, Barbara, Tina and Donna; brother John; close friend Nancy Pasquale and many grandchildren. In his youth, Stephen was a member of the PA amateur ranks for boxing and part of one of the most successful teams in PA Golden Globe History called the Montgomery County Boy’s Club. It started in a barn on the Traitz property and ended up in nearby Eagleville. It included sleeping quarters, kitchen, and a gym just off the main highway less than an hour from Philadelphia. Stephen was a business manager of the Local 30 Roofer Union for many years. Family and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 8:30-9:45 am at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Trooper, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am. Entombment will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, East Norriton. Arrangements entrusted to Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home. Condolences may be made by visiting www.MeyersFH.com.
