Sue L. (Quinto) Schurr (82) of Johnston, RI, formally of Wernersville, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on June 19, 2020. She was born in Philadelpia, PA and, graduated from Little Flower High School in 1956. Upon graduation, she married her sweetheart, George W Schurr Jr., to whom she remained the greatest gift for 62 years. Sue excelled at many jobs over the years however, her most important legacy was the cherished friendships she developed along the way. She would always proclaim her most important job was raising and supporting her family. Sue’s favorite memories include vacations in Hawaii, poker with the Card Club, spending quality time with family and friends at their Jersey Shore and Pocono homes as well as her passion for a challenging jumble puzzle. Sue was a longtime member of St Francis de Sales, where she loved greeting members with a smile each week. Along with her husband, George W. Schurr Jr. of Johnston, RI, she is survived by her daughters Susan K. (Douglas) Falcone of Davidson, NC and Helen Marie (Dennis) Loux of Johnston, RI, grandchildren, Robert W. Ray Jr. (Alisha) of North Providence, RI, Michael D. Falcone (Caitlin) of Charlotte, NC, Corey J. Ray of Cumberland, RI and Jennifer N. Falcone of Charlotte, NC and one great-granddaughter Luna B. Ray of North Providence, RI. She was preceded in death by her son George W. Schurr III, of Tucson Arizona, her parents Dominic and Susie Quinto, her brothers John Quinto, Lou Quinto, Joseph Quinto, Dominick Quinto and sister Mary (Quinto) Koenig of Pennsylvania. She leaves many nieces and nephews across three generations. During her final days she was cared for by her daughter and by many kind/dedicated caregivers at Kindred Hospice Foundations in Warwick, RI. The family will forever be grateful for the love and compassion they have provided her. Grammy, affectionally called by her grandchildren, will be greatly missed by her entire family, who will remember her spirit, passion and love of sports. She was also truly inspirational to everyone in her 25-year battle with the autoimmune disease Transverse Myelitis. Funeral services will be at Immaculate Conception, 602 West Ave., Jenkintown, PA on Friday, June 26th at 11 A.M. The family will be receiving guests at the church beginning at 10:15. Due to Covid-19 state restrictions, a mask will be required in the church. The visitation and funeral mass will be live streamed.
