Sullivan L. “Sulli” DeStefano passed away suddenly on Monday, September 13, 2021. He was 60 years old. Sulli was retired after having worked for the Post Office for more than 30 years. He was a Rescue Diver with the Norristown Dive Unit in the 1990’s. He belonged to the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. Sulli had a great spirit with a passion for adventure, friendship, and gardening. His personal garden was a wonder in itself recently producing a 16lb Zucchini. He loved the mountains, snow, throwing parties for friends, music and animals and enjoyed cooking and a good BBQ with friends. He was an avid ATV, motorcycle and snowmobile rider, a passion which he developed as a young boy growing up in Bridgeport. He was also an accomplished barefoot water skier and scuba diver. Sulli lived an excellent life and enjoyed people. He had a charisma that allowed him to create lifelong friends that he kept in contact with up until his final days with us. He will be missed by many. Born in Norristown, PA on June 25, 1961, he was a beloved son of Salvatore G. “Wedge” DeStefano and the late Rita T. (Lattanze) DeStefano. Surviving in addition to his father are two brothers, Mark A. DeStefano and Michael A. DeStefano; a niece, Sierra R. DeStefano; and his longtime girlfriend, Susan Bankey Yoder. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 Dekalb St., Bridgeport, PA on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 6 to 8:00 pm. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation the family request that all guest wear masks. Interment will be private.
