Susan Marie (Amberger) MacDonald passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at her residence in King of Prussia, PA. She was 59. Mrs. MacDonald worked as an administrator for the Center for Contextual Therapy in Wayne, PA. She was a graduate of West Chester University with a B.S., Summa cum Laude. Susan was working on a combined Masters/PHD in Social Policy in Health Care. Susan's hobbies included reading, watching Philly sports and taking care of her family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of Edith Marie (Hill) Amberger of Springfield, PA and the late John Amberger. Surviving are her loving family including her mother; her husband of 20 years, James R. MacDonald; a son, Gerald S. Votta; two daughters, Karen Votta and her husband, Frank Burdo and Susan DeNure and her husband, Donald; a step-son, Scott MacDonald and his wife, Kim; and two step-daughters, Karen MacDonald and Wendy MacDonald; a brother, John Amberger and his wife, Diane; a sister, Sharon Falasco and her husband, Tony; and a soon to be grandson, Mason, due in September. Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service at Valley Forge Presbyterian Church, 191 Town Center Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 7:00pm. Interment will be private at the request of the family.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Susan's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
