Sylvia (Sharp) Hobson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Berwyn, PA. She was 78. Mrs. Hobson worked as a registered nurse starting at Guys Hospital in London, Columbia Medical Center in New York City, Beverly Hills Doctors Hospital, and finally Bryn Mawr Hospital. She sacrificed her career to be a full-time mother to her five children. She dedicated her life as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 14, 1970 and was zealous in her ministry up until her death. Born in Exeter, England on March 26, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Robert W. and Winifred A. (Richards) Sharp. She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 51 years, Thomas M. Hobson; two sons, Michael J. Hobson (Jonalyn), of Kennett Square, PA and Jeffrey S. Hobson (Mindy), of Collegeville, PA; three daughters: Roberta L. Morrow (Mark), of Auburn, Nebraska, Carol L. Slatcher (David), of Chester Springs, PA and Jennifer S. Duncan (Maurice), of Berwyn, PA; six grandchildren, Ashley Martin (Diego), Courtney Hobson, Michael Hobson II (Kelsey), Lydia and Erica Slatcher and Ruby Hobson; a brother, Richard J. Sharp (Susan) and two sisters, Edith Ireland (John) and Roberta Moxey (Paul), all of Exeter, England; and many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 2, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 1200 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380. Condolences can be expressed beginning at 1:30 pm. Memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers family would prefer donations made to "Watchtower" for the World Wide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11202.
