Tacey Marie Sava

April 27, 1930 — September 18, 2019

Tacey Marie Sava died on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at the home of her daughter in King of Prussia, PA. She was 89 years old. Tacey was a resident of Frederick, PA, and formerly of Chesterbrook, PA and New Hyde Park, NY. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years. During that time she was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hyde Park, NY, a Girl Scout leader, a youth group leader, and volunteered in several other organizations. As her daughters grew older, Tacey went back to work for an eye doctor in New Hyde Park, until her retirement. Most recently, Tacey was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in King of Prussia, PA. She loved to sew, knit and crochet, and her talents were legendary. She sewed the wedding and bridesmaids gowns for all five of her daughters, and the afghans, sweaters and hats she made continue to keep her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren warm today. Some may say her story has now been written, but for Tacey it could be said that it was a full-length musical. Music and sing-alongs brought Tacey great joy. She was a woman who had a song for every occasion and loved to have others join in. Most of all, Tacey loved visits from her family. When her girls were growing up, Tacey and her husband, Warren, were the hosts of nearly every holiday meal. In her later years, Tacey enjoyed visits from her daughters and sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved bringing the younger ones up to the Train Room at Frederick Living, and treating everyone to a meal in the dining hall, introducing them to all of her friends there. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 27, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Wilhelm and Anna (Rosenwinkle) Papenhausen. She is survived by her daughters: Linda Jackson of Westfield, Indiana, Nancy Brown and her husband, Fred, of King of Prussia, PA, Wendy Wolber and her husband, Tom, of Rockville Centre, NY, Laurie Mueller and her husband, Bill, of Norristown, PA and Pamela Baclaski and her husband, Dane, of Kensington, CT; 13 grandchildren, Ruth (Jackson) Griepentrog, Abigail (Jackson) Karius, Susanna (Jackson) Harris, Nathan Jackson, William Brown, Joseph Brown, Kenneth Brown, Christopher Wolber, Alyse (Wolber) Reap, Tara Stark, Jonathan Mueller, Bailey Baclaski and Jack Baclaski; 13 great-grandchildren and four more on the way; her sister, Annaliese (Walter) MacConnie; brother, Bill (Gail) Papenhausen; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren Sava. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 6 to 8:00 pm; also Saturday morning from 9:45 to 10:50 am, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 132 E. Valley Forge Rd., King of Prussia, PA. Tacey’s Funeral Service will start at 11:00 am. Officiating will be the Rev. Julie DeWerth and assisting will be the Rev. William Mueller, her son-in-law.
