Teresa Veramonti

Teresa (nee Sciarretta) Veramonti passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024 surrounded by family at her residence in E. Norriton, PA. She was 101. Born in a small village near Teremo, Italy on January 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Bernardo and Magdelena (nee DiStefano) Sciarretta. She was the beloved wife of Pierino “Perry” Veramonti for 50 years until he passed away in 1995. Teresa and Pierino married in 1945 and had 4 children while in Italy. In 1956, Pierino emigrated to America, and Teresa and their 4 children joined him in 1958. They then had two more children. Teresa worked in a textile factory and then as a cook for multiple family restaurants. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Bridgeport and then more recently of Visitation BVM Church in Trooper, PA. Teresa enjoyed gardening, crocheting, volunteering at the church, and cooking Sunday dinner for her large family.

Surviving is her loving family including 5 daughters, Adele A. Morehead, Gail A. Ryan (Lee), Mema Mazzerle (Larry), Helen L. Hunt, Lorraine Vitagliano (Frank); 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Merrill J. Veramonti and her brother, Albano Sciarretta.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Teresa’s viewing at Visitation BVM Church (Upper Church), 196 N. Trooper Rd. Eagleville, PA 19403 on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 10:45 to 11:45am; followed by her Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
