Thelma D. (Duke) Tyrrell

Thelma D. (Duke) Tyrrell passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Manor Care in King of Prussia, PA. She was 96. Mrs. Tyrrell was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. She worked as a waitress at Woolworth's. She graduated from Greenwood High School, Class of 1936. Thelma had many involvements thru her church where she was a member of many service organizations and was an ordained minister. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, sewing, and spending time with friends. Thelma also sang and played two string instruments.Born in Greenwood, DE on April 22, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Charles Richard and Juliet (Wynn) Duke. Surviving is her loving family including her daughter, Patricia "Patty" Dickenson Tyrrell; a daughter-in-law, Mary Tyrrell; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Wilson; close friend, Louise Dallessandro and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, George William "Billy" Tyrrell, Jr.; a daughter, Cheryl Mae Tyrrell; 3 sisters: Gladys Duke, Myrtle Bethune Duke and Inez Duke; and a brother, Walter Duke, who was a pilot in WWII.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thelma's memory to the donors' choice.
