Theodore “Ted” James Quillen, II passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA. He was 95 years old. Born on February 6, 1929 in Red Bluff, CA, he was the son of the late Theodore J. and Maxine (nee Johnston) Quillen. Ted was a Merchant Marine in WWII, serving in the Pacific theater, and a U.S. Army Veteran during the Cold War serving in the Berlin Airlift. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of California and then became a self-employed Mechanical Engineer. Ted truly loved working and worked up until 84. He was also a life member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Vincent Lodge #762 in Spring City, PA.
Ted was the beloved husband of Bonnie Ann (nee Hinsdale) Quillen who passed away in 2003. He is survived by his loving family including two sons, Theodore J. Quillen III (Jacinda) of Dayton Beach, FL and Howard L. Quillen (Rachel) of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Diana Lynn Speights of California; three grandchildren, Angela V. Quillen, Howard L. Quillen II, and Leigh-Anne Quillen; as well as many other extended family and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd. King of Prussia, PA from 9am to 10:15am; with his Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30am. Inurnment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ted’s name to the Southeastern Veterans Center at 1 Veterans Dr. Spring City, PA 19475 or to the Battleship New Jersey at https://www.battleshipnewjersey.org/.
