Theresa S. (Gallagher) O'Brien

Theresa S. (Gallagher) O'Brien passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown. She was 84. Mrs. O'Brien was a resident of Audubon and was formerly of Bridgeport. She was a graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School. Theresa was a devoted Catholic who was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Audubon. She enjoyed traveling with friends and watching the Phillies, Flyers and Villanova basketball. Most of all, she loved caring for her grandchildren. She worked as a clerk/receptionist for Valley Forge General Hospital, the Census Bureau, Lee Carpets of Audubon and the Hewlett Packard Co. of Audubon and Chesterbrook.Born in Spring Mill on April 21, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Stella A. (Lester) Gallagher. She was the wife of the late James J. O'Brien, Jr. Surviving is her loving family including 2 sons, James J. (Leslie) O'Brien of Exton and Thomas J. (Carol) O'Brien of Phoenixville; 3 daughters: Eileen (Joseph J. Jr.) McGrory of Limerick, Maureen (Austin A. III) Meehan of Yardley and Colleen (Glenn) Eckman of Audubon; 13 grandchildren: Alyn, Joseph J. III, Daniel, Matthew, Andrew, Ellen, Meredith, Austin IV, Colleen, Kelly, Claire, Jason and Ryan; a sister, Dorothy Stevenson of Audubon; 2 nephews, Robert & John Stevenson; and 1 niece, Diane Krauss.Relatives & friends are invited to Theresa's Funeral Mass at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd., Audubon, PA on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10:00 am. Her viewing is Monday from 9 to 9:50 am, at the church. Interment will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Theresa's memory to St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S.
