Theresa L. (Matteo) Valerio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the age of 80. She was surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Eagleville, PA. Mrs. Valerio was the co-founder of Valerio's Produce in Norristown, PA. She worked with her husband and children before retiring in 1991, when the family business was moved to Hatfield, PA. Theresa was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Norristown, PA. Born in Conshohocken, PA on May 30, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Luisa (Colocci) Matteo. She was the wife of the late William J. Valerio, Sr., who died in 2007. Surviving are her loving family including two sons, William J. Valerio, Jr. and his wife, Pamela of W. Norriton, PA and Anthony J. Valerio and his wife, Josephine of W. Norriton, PA; a daughter, Carol Goldberg and her husband, Stephen of Ambler, PA; seven grandchildren: Anya, Krystle, Nicole, Concetta, Annalisa, Alessandra and Shaina; two sisters, Mary Ambolino and her husband, Arthur of Oreland, PA and Lucy Fusco and her husband, Frank of Limerick, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, Russel Valerio, who died in 2005.Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, 714 DeKalb St., Norristown, PA 19401 on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. William S. Murphy, Pastor.
