Thomas E. Dinneen, III, 79, of Glenside, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, at Abington Hospital surrounded by his children and their spouses. Thomas was born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 3, 1947, a son of the late Marie (Minnich) Dinneen and Thomas E. Dinneen, Jr.
Tom attended Norwood Academy and graduated from Abington Senior High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic. He went on to work in sales and service in Medical Imaging. He was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Glenside.
Tom was a man who loved his family, his dog, Casey, and the things that brought him joy. He was a true Philadelphia sports fan & collector who could always be counted on to have an opinion about the latest game or play.
Tom also had a lifelong passion for cars and anything that had a motor. In his younger years, he was a car enthusiast and as his children got older, they spent many weekends on the Delaware on his boat.
In more recent years, Tom looked forward to Wednesdays when he would breakfast “with the boys” at some local spots & reminisce on the good old days.
Thomas was the loving father of Thomas E. IV (Sofia), Lauren E. Racobaldo (Thomas) and Kelly N. Amodei (Louis). Loving Pop-Pop to Brynley, Ella, Livia, Delaney, Thomas, Luca, Elliette, Emilia, and Beckett. Thomas is also survived by his sister-in-law, Carol Dinneen and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Dinneen.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday, September 21st from 10-10:50am followed by his funeral mass at 11am both held at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 2316 Fairhill Ave. Glenside, PA. His interment will be held at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Services entrusted to the Joseph J McGoldrick Funeral Home, Jenkintown, PA.
