Thomas Joseph Conway passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He was 95 years old. Thomas was a resident of Drexel Hill, PA. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in English from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, then worked as a teacher for Monsignor Bonner High School, where he taught English, Latin and Greek. He later worked as a COBOL Programmer in the IT business for many years. Thomas was a United States Navy Veteran and a talented musician who played the French Horn on an Admiral’s Battleship. He also played with the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra, Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra, and very much enjoyed the Philadelphia Orchestra and Pennsylvania Ballet.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on July 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Thomas Bernard and Helen Agnes (nee Kane) Conway.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eleanor Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee Bankert) Conway and her family: son, Rick Burger and his wife, Jennifer; daughter-in-law, Anita Burgher; four grandchildren, Christopher Burgher, Regina Dagenhardt (Lance), Elena Weaver, and Louis Weaver. He is also survived by his nephews, Paul Keenan (Cindy), Thomas Keenan (Collette), and Kevin McClatchy (Nancy); his nieces, Maureen Sands (Robert) and Kate McClatchy; his niece-in-law, Malla Keenan; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Thomas is preceded in death by Jackie’s son, Christopher Burgher; his sisters, Helen “Connie” Pennington and Alice Keenan; and his nephew, Mark Keenan.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd. King of Prussia, PA 19406 from 10 to 10:50am; with his Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00am. Inurnment will be held at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Quarryville, PA.
